I have Pearl Jam's entire set from Pinkpop 1992 on my computer. It's incredible. Watching it improved my mood dramatically. I also have Pearl Jam MTV Unplugged 1992. Awesome. Life is good.
I was watching a video of Eddie Vedder and Ben Harper singing Indifference. Ben messes up the "I will scream my lungs out..." bit, and it sounds like he's going to keep singing, but Eddie looks at him - you can see him thinking 'shut up, you dick, you're wrecking my song! Look, I'll show you..." and he cuts across him, singing beautifully. Ben shuts up. Trust me, it's funny when you see it. But only if you're obsessed with Pearl Jam and have a strange sense of humour. Like me.
I finished my lab report and handed it in on time. Now I have a new one to write. And a midsemester test on Tuesday. And a present to buy for my brother's 21st. Busy day for me tomorrow. I have to finish my book for English and do several chapters of Latin. I could have done some of this tonight, but I was watching Pearl Jam concerts. It was way more fun. My brain isn't working properly anyway. I think I'll go to bed and dream of angry short men with lovely eyes.
Eddie Vedder's words of wisdom: Troubled souls unite, we got ourselves tonight! |

| Japanese camp, bitchy girls, Avocado... and more |
[May. 12th, 2006|02:58 pm] |
1. Just back from Japanese camp. Got to go to the Bible camp and do Japanese tutorials for a day and a half. Some nice people. There was an old sort of a bloke called Sam in my group. He called everyone sweetheart. But not in a gay way. There were lots of real Japanese people, some of whom didn't speak English. We had to use our extensive (not) knowledge of the language to figure out what they were telling us to do. Mostly everyone just stood around looking puzzled. We had to sing in Japanese. I feel sorry for anyone listening. We also tried on Yukata. We watched this movie called Waterboys, in Japanese with English subtitles. It was very funny. It's the first Japanese movie I've seen that isn't Anime.
2. At Japanese camp, before everyone was ordered to bed, I was lying in my bunk. There were these 2 girls from some other school sitting in the same room as me, just (for lack of a more polite term) 'bitching' about everyone and everything. "I hate [insert name here]! He/she has never given me any reason to hate him/her, but I hate him/her anyway..." I was getting so annoyed!
3. "Avocado" my song ratings 1. Come Back 2. Marker in the Sand / Parachutes 3. Life Wasted 4. Wasted Reprise 5. World Wide Suicide 6. Comotose 7. Unemployable 8. Severed Hand (reminds me of Smells Like Teen Spirit) 9. Gone 10. Inside Job 11. Big wave 12. Army Reserve
4. Wednesday night, all I wanted to do was read a Jane Austen book. We have about 15, 000, 000 books in our house. Do you think I could find a Jane Austen book? No. I just got Northanger Abbey out of the Library.
5. I watched Sense and Sensibility on Wednesday night. It has Hugh Laurie in it. Eleanor goes up to him and says, "I think we need a doctor." HAHAHA. I'm amused by the smallest things. Jane Austen + Hugh Laurie = Heaven.
6. Help! I should not think Hugh Laurie is hot. He's they same age as my parents. |
